Who are we....
Hi, I’m Erin, the founder of Grace and Grit Homes—and yes, the name is a dead-on reflection of how I’ve built both my life and career (with a little duct tape and sarcasm holding things together).
I was raised by a dad who was a framer, so I grew up with the smell of sawdust in the air and a hammer in hand long before I could even reach the cookie-jar shelf. My dad and I always dreamed of building something together, and though he passed before we could, that dream has never left me. He always told me to ‘do it the right way’—a lesson that still guides every project I take on. In many ways, Grace and Grit Homes is the fulfillment of what we both wanted—me doing it on my own, but carrying him with me in every house I build.
Over the last 20+ years, I’ve had the privilege of building a career that’s taken me coast to coast (and back again). I started in Southern California, cutting my teeth on everything from production homes to multimillion-dollar estates along the coast of Newport. From there, I took my journey across the country to Cape Cod, working in purchasing for some of the most stunning high-end custom design-build projects on the East Coast. Eventually, I made my way to Colorado, which I’ve proudly called home for the past 14 years. Here, I gained experience with national builders, then rolled up my sleeves to help grow small local builders from closing just a handful of homes to delivering hundreds. And now? I’m back in the high-end, one-of-a-kind custom home space that’s always been my true passion.
In a male-dominated field, I’ve been lucky to learn from some incredible mentors while carving out my own path with equal parts toughness, tact, and grit. I’m obsessive about details (yes, I will notice if a cabinet knob is half an inch off), thrive on structure, and secretly enjoy making sure no screw, spec, or schedule is out of place. My official credentials? IRC and IBC certifications. My unofficial ones? Grace, grit, and the ability to laugh when chaos is trying its hardest to win.
Alongside me is my husband, Jeff—the funny one in the family. He handles a lot behind the scenes, from land acquisition to investor relations, while keeping things balanced with his quick wit and perspective. He’s the guy who makes sure I don’t survive solely on job-site coffee and protein bars, and that I don’t measure life only in two-by-fours and punch lists. While you might not always see him in muddy boots, his steady hand and sense of humor are woven into everything we build—both at Grace & Grit and at home.
Grace keeps me grounded. Grit keeps me going. And together? We keep the sawdust flying and the dreams coming to life (with plenty of laughter along the way).
Built with strength. driven by vision.
